Atlantic Avenue Artwalk Committee seeks volunteers, leading up to and during the weekend, to help coordinate the tour, staff information sites, and participates in arts programming activity.
On June 7th and 8th, Atlantic Avenue will be alive with displays of the work of a multitude of artists in stores. Galleries, studios and outdoor spaces. Volunteers work in shifts of 3-4 hours each, acting as docents along the route, hosting special events and receptions, and staffing information stations along the Avenue.

See you at Artwalk08!

Atlantic Avenue ArtWalk 2008 will be held the weekend of June 7 & 8 from 1pm-6pm both days. ArtWalk is a self-guided tour of open artist studios and area exhibitions, a range of public art projects, special events, and extensive local merchant participation. The tour provides a relaxed setting for dialogue, collecting, and for artists to discuss current bodies of work, while offering a glimpse into the creation process. ArtWalk now includes additional opportunities and support for public art, sculpture, film, performance, and more work across media.
There is no fee to show in ArtWalk. This is made possible with the support of public funds from Brooklyn Arts Council, and production and underwriting support provided by Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation, and Atlantic Avenue Betterment Association.
ArtWalk studio tour is open to all artists who have studios, work, or show space in the greater Atlantic Avenue area. Please refer to last year's tour map for more information on location of studio tour.
Artists who would like to be included in the Art Walk who do not live or work in the immediate area can submit samples of work with their registration. You will be notified regarding availability of space and venue selection May 12, 2008 or prior.
Submissions of site-specific works, performance, and proposals from individual artists and curators to be presented in conjunction with ArtWalk08 are also being considered this year.
