Printing becomes street art as the front windows allow pedestrians to watch the process happen in the massive overhead mirrors.
Flavor Paper will be running printing demonstrations in addition to an open showroom. Flavor League artists will be on hand to discuss their designs, process, and work.

A carnival of all things experimental, the Roulette Brooklyn MUSICIRCUS brings a cornucopia of musicians, dancers, video artists, and performance artists from all corners of New York City's artistic community together for a celebration of chaos and and the harmonies of simultaneity.
First performed in 1967, John Cage's MUSICIRCUS is simply an invitation for performers to assemble and play together - a "happening" where multiple performances occur simultaneously to create new and unusual configurations. A collage of genres and forms, the Roulette Brooklyn MUSICIRCUS will unfold over the course of two full day events, with the audience invited to wander freely and choose their own sonic and visual relationships.
This will be the first event in Roulette’s newly renovated, wonderful space, and is presented as a sneak peek of the new space before Roulette opens its doors officially in September.

Artists Steven and William Ladd have chosen "Obstacle" as the theme of the exhibition at The Invisible Dog; born from the idea of an obstacle course - something to challenge the body and demand attention in the present. They approached artists and asked them to investigate the work they were making, and how the work relates to obstacles. The Perfect Storm, by Sally French, deals with the loss of her home during the housing crisis. Chris Astley explores force, pressure and weight with concrete forms. In the case of artists Antonia Wright and Ruben Millares, they literally confront theirs with a running start. Steven and William collaborated with their sister Bee Ladd's education program at PS 58, Project Lab.
Works by: Chris Astley, Carlton DeWoody, Ethan Long, Steven and William, Chris Dunbar, Suzanne Sattler, Antonia Wright, Ruben Millares, Wayne Adams, Paul Bloodgood, Sally French, Allyn Bromley, Stephen Freedman, Deborah Nehmad, Evan Ryer, Michael Joaquin Grey, Project Lab @ PS58, Aaron Padilla, John Silvis, Anne Pearce, Andrew Zuckerman, Jennifer Mills, Robin Kang, Ian Trask.
The Invisible Dog is open Thursday to Saturday 1pm to 7pm and Sunday 1pm to 5pm. Admission is free.
Artists and "Obstacle" curators Steven and William Ladd will be holding a children's art workshop for ArtWalk on Sunday, June 5, 1-3PM.

Graduating from the Pratt Institute School of Architecture in Brooklyn, NY, she has lived and worked in Madrid, New Mexico, New York, Tel-Aviv, Bern, Barcelona and Maryland, where collectors of her work are located.
The de Castellane Gallery is inviting and unpretentious, located in the heart of Brooklyn on Atlantic Avenue near the construction of the new NETS stadium and BAM. There is an intimate main gallery in front, Hans de Castellane's painting studio, and a large private garden in back where there is an outdoor exhibition wall. The space can also be rented for private events.
Muriel Guépin Gallery is pleased to announce "Juxtaposed" a new group show featuring the artwork of Béatrice Coron and Robert Szot.
Béatrice Coron's paper cut images tell stories inventing situations, cities and worlds which all have their own logic and patterns. These compositions include memories, associations of words, ideas, observations and thoughts that unfold in improbable juxtapositions. Coron researchs collective memories and myths, questioning the notions of identity and belonging.
Robert Szot will present his latest paintings called BLS (roman conflict). Szot's oil paintings are wrestling with the conflict of impermanence. Szot's methodology is primarily one of problem solving. Fine details are sometimes marred or sacrificed until the final composition has reached a more dynamic and complex resolution.Thin layers of activity and line drawing peer through a more dominant foreground of broad color fields. This process provides a depth that becomes sharper in definition over time.
Muriel Guepin Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday 11AM-7PM and Sunday 12-5PM. Admission is free.

In this piece, we are interested in communicating as a way of maintaining energy and exchange. We want to represent a view of strength lived from a male and female perspective acted out on the street inclusively distant yet in the same action as we travel forth the avenue. We will be with each other through distant actions. The actions themselves are conceptually driven by ideas around communication, separation, intention and meditation between human beings.
Across each other on the same street, we will perform twelve actions and slow each one of them by repeating them for a whole hour each. As they will become more intentional, a concentrated meditative state of mind will occur. To support each other, we will incorporate these concentrate activities on the streets in interaction with the audience. The actions chosen vary and are different in spirit. Some are cerebral, others sonic, others physical and endurance based, others reflections. Some are pure endurance and interaction, others based on text and sound experimentation.

A cool way to enjoy your Saturday!

Cannonball Press - Brooklyn's Ringmasters of Monochrome Woodcut Follies - comes to the Artwalk Block Party.
Our mission here at Cannonball is a simple recipe:
The Cannonball Print: A down-home dish that is tasty hot or cold. For low-fat version, substitute another printing press, because these things will put meat on your bones!
1 lurking artist
1 one-eyed master-printer
1 idea
5 cups backwater goo
6 spoonfuls of jumpstart and holler
9 lbs. mess with your face
1 bottle Tickle-My-Fancy
6 smatterings kick-ass juice
1 handful of Fine Art
Preheat idea in Oven of Rock. Make sure color is off! Allow images to gestate and contort at will. When mysterious, funny or twisted, remove and slap on table. Add all ingredients, and beat and cut until smooth and hot. Do not add Fine Art at this point. Add master-printer, work him into a steady boil, edition. Throw Fine Art in trash.

Ariana Hellerman is a third generation New Yorker. After feeling creatively-sapped by three years of full-time administrative work and a part-time Masters program, Ariana began to focus on her art. Her work is primarily conceptual and explores issues of race and class in the public sphere. She has also begun to experiment with sculpture and mixed media. Last summer, Ariana went to a residency at the Haystack Mountain School in Deer Isle, Maine. She is currently working out of 3rd Ward in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
Ghetto Blaster? is a performance piece and audio installation that questions perceptions (and misperceptions) about race and class in the urban landscape. Why do we often assume an individual's interests and tastes based on the clothing they wear or the color of their skin? Ghetto Blaster? forces the public as they routinely walk down the street, to stop in their tracks and ponder these ideas. Atlantic Avenue, a diverse street that crosses through different neighborhoods (some gentrified, some on the verge of gentrification), is a perfect venue for this exploration. Through its boombox imagery, Ghetto Blaster? also pays homage to the NYC of the 1980s and early 90s.

Doing Art Together (DAT) is a non-profit arts education organization that provides hands-on programs to under-served audiences. DAT's programs build skills that enhance the ability to learn and are easily transferred from the classroom to life.
Artists and brothers Steven and William Ladd host a creative kids art workshop at The Invisible Dog, featuring hands-on art activities and an all-ages introduction to the art of Steven and William.
Surrounding themselves with people and places they love has always been important to Steven and William Ladd. Their initial encounter with The Invisible Dog was love at first sight. The space brought back childhood fantasies of exploring caves, old buildings, and nature. Buckets and barrels filled with trinkets and trimmings left behind from a defunct belt factory lined the floors. Lucien Zayan, envisioning the spirit of the future art space, commissioned them to utilize these materials and create a chandelier for the ground floor gallery. This commission blossomed into a friendship and opened the doors to a professional collaboration – from curating The Invisible Store to curating their first art show.
